Is spring going to spring?

So, now that Puxatony Phil told us that Spring is just around the corner (fingers crossed) its time I could finally start thinking of pastel colors and blooming flowers.  I have a tendency to dress only in dreary earth tones (mostly black) during the winter- but in the spring and summer I unleash the colors!  These designer scrubs come in an amazing array of colors- both bright and lower key.  During this winter I have been wearing a lot of black and brown nursing scrubs but I'm ready to start shopping for some lavender and pinks!

WINTER

Hope everyone is staying warm because this winter is fierce.  It has been the most snow is January since 2004 and boy am I getting tired of it.  I wear so many layers to work in the morning that I can barely move my arms as I walk- long johns, layering thermals, nursing scrubs, two sweatshirts, a coat, hat, two scarves, and gloves....AM I STILL AN ICICLE!  Seriously, I need some warm summer air or I am just going to freeze.  You should check out these layering thermals I got from this medical scrubs company.  They are amazing, I would have frozen by now if not for them.

Funny Story

I love funny nursing stories.  Throughout the day my fellow nurses and myself always exchange hysterical stories.  I feel like when your a nurse your never at a loss for an embarrassing moment or two.  We are constantly rushing so we are bound to fall or do something to make everyone around us laugh.  Yesterday I was really excited because I just got these few new pairs of amazing nursing scrubs.  They fit great and I was excited to wear them (not to mention one of my patients that would be on my floor for a few weeks was super SUPER cute).  Anyway, I pranced into work feeling all confident in my designer scrubs and in a true me type of way, I tripped over a wheel of a cart that was stationed along the wall of the hallways and I fell right on my face!  This woman who was wearing a visitor pass ran to my side and helped me up.  I thanked her and went on my way.  A few minutes later while doing rounds I very excitedly went into the room of the SUPER cute patient and sitting beside his bed was the woman who helped me up! And she goes, "Oh, this is the nurse I was just telling you about who fell on her face this morning!"  It wasn't all bad because she ended up being his sister and I had some material to talk to him about that didn't involve his urine...

Halloweeeeeeeen

Hey everyone, hope you had a nice Halloween. I saw some pretty funny costumes. I went to the parade downtown for a little because I had a friend from out of town visiting and she wanted to go. I usually don't go because it's too intense for me. But I actually had a lot of fun. I dressed up as a hippie and my friend was Snooki. There were a ton of costumes from the Jersey Shore. I also saw a ton of Chilean Miners- so crazy that so many people thought to dress up as that! Anyway I had a lot of fun. I usually spend my days off from work in sweats as I try to take a break from my medical scrubs. But this past weekend I had fun dressing up- it was a fun transformation from nursing scrubs to hippie flower girl!
