Treat Yourself

In 1978, Susan Sontag published a non-fiction work called "Illness as Metaphor." She herself was battling cancer during the writing and publication of this book. Sontag discussed two diseases, Tuberculosis and Cancer. When she wrote about cancer she explained that it was thought to be a disease of the suppressed. Those stricken with cancer were the people who did not express themselves but instead held within their bodies the stress of repression.

We must understand the importance and need for expression. Whether it be painting a picture, talking to a friend, or blogging. So, let yourself out, don't hold back, and just be alive. Because there's no greater gift than the present and no greater present than life.
